The problem I have with books like this is that, for the most part, I like Sci-fi because it gives me a chance to escape from the world, such as it is. I do enjoy subtle and clever commentary, but this is neither. It eas hard for me to get past it and just enjoy a story.

    1. It’s no secret how much I hated this book. Looking back I can’t believe it even earned 2 stars! But I agree it’s so preachy. So much so that it seems to almost forget that there’s supposed to be a narrative here. The guy should have just written an exploitative essay about what could happen if we don’t all become environmentalists. He probably would have been hailed for doing so, but instead we get this poor excuse for a story.

I meant to say it was too preachy.
